TRADITIONAL THERAPY vs. THERAPY INTENSIVE
Most people are familiar with weekly or biweekly 50-minute therapy sessions. A typical session can involve 5-10 minutes of opening and closing each time, leaving about 35 minutes of processing time.
Many people find that’s just not enough time in one sitting.
Therapy intensives offer a different approach. Instead of spreading therapy out over weeks or months, intensives provide highly-focused, unhurried time to address targeted goals and deeper healing work without interruption.
With therapy intensives, there’s no need to recap each week or feel the momentum stall between sessions. The immersive structure allows you to stay in the work and move toward clarity and healing more efficiently. Rather than navigating regular weekly appointments, intensives allow you to prioritize your healing in a focused window of time built to increase psychological safety for transformative processing.
This is great for when you:
are motivated and committed to attuning to a specific impact on your life
highly value your time and intentionality
need a container to hold the full expression of your transition with extra space to embody the integration
Each intensive is personalized around your needs and intentions. Together, we co-create a gentle space of safety and presence. Within this extended container, you’ll have time to explore, feel, rest, and integrate—without pressure or rush.

an intensive may be for you if:
You’re ready to focus on a specific goal or issue outside the stop-and-start rhythm of weekly therapy.
You’re navigating the intersection of emotions, thoughts, intuition, and relationships and want to gain clarity on how they’re connected
You've done some healing work already but want to reignite your healing journey after feeling stuck or stagnant.
You crave deeper insight and self-connection to guide your next steps.
You’re seeking a space where curiosity and acceptance are at the center of the process—not judgment or pressure.
You're not just looking to resolve pain—you’re ready to imagine what flourishing might look like on the other side
You're drawn to the idea of immersive self-reflection—time set apart to tend to both your wounds and your potential.
How is the 5hr Whole Self Connect different from the 3hr Deep Dive?
Translate insight into life change.
Deep reflection. Focused insight. Personalized support.
This is an alternative to traditional weekly therapy—designed to help you assess where your past is connecting to your present with depth and momentum.
Rather than meeting once a week for months or years, this intensive offers a highly-focused experience where we meet for five hours in one day or five one-hour sessions across five days. This unhurried, immersive format creates space to explore your relationship to your thoughts, emotions, intuition, and relationships—all the pieces that shape how you experience yourself and the world around you.
By stepping out of everyday distractions and into intentional reflection, you can gain clarity faster and create a personalized action plan for your next steps in healing.
If you’re ready to reconnect with yourself and map out what’s next in your healing journey, this offering is designed for you.

Understanding Options
Each intensive option is designed with a different purpose in mind:
The 3-hour Deep Dive Sessions (one or three-day format) are ideal for targeted, focused work on a specific issue—offering a deep but efficient way to move through a challenge.
The Whole Self Reset (one-day or five-day format) is designed for a more holistic exploration of your relationship with thoughts, emotions, intuition, and community. This offering provides a structured approach to self-reflection and integration, making it distinct from shorter, issue-focused intensives.
The pricing reflects not just session time, but also the structure, depth, and scope of work within each option. Whether you need to hold space for a specific topic or a broader clarification of your internal landscape, there's an option designed to fit your needs.
You don't have to take your next healing steps without a map.
What frames my approach?
It is not just a fast-track for healing, but a container for deeper self-connection—one that honors both the hard work of healing and the tenderness required to move through it.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes! Each intensive is designed with intentional breaks to allow for reflection, processing, and self-care between sessions.
-
An intensive provides a lot of insight and progress, but healing is a process. We will identify the best next steps for you, whether that’s additional sessions or other resources.
-
Therapy intensives are structured to be supportive and paced appropriately for deep work. If at any point you feel overwhelmed, we will adjust the process to ensure you feel safe and grounded.
-
If you’d like to continue working together after the intensive, we can discuss ongoing therapy options tailored to your needs. However, my approach is designed to meet you where you are for a specific time and space, and in some cases, our work together may feel complete at the end of the intensive. Additionally, my primary focus is religious trauma and deconstruction, so if your needs extend beyond this specialty, I may not be the best long-term fit. That said, we will explore this together, and if ongoing therapy isn’t the right path, I’m happy to provide guidance on next steps or referrals that align with your goals.
-
No, you don’t have to share explicit details of painful experiences to find relief and healing. Our work together is guided by what feels safe and supportive for you. At the same time, healing often requires gently engaging with the places where you feel stuck. I listen closely for moments of resistance—not as something to push through, but as a guide to where deeper work may be needed. My approach balances safety and challenge, helping you move toward healing in a way that is intentional, direct, and free of judgment.

Therapy intensives are held virtually for anyone physically located in Virginia.
For those interested in an in-person experience, single 3-hour sessions or multi-day intensives may be available. If you’d like to explore this option, we can discuss details and availability during our initial consultation.
Regardless of location, I encourage you to treat your intensive like a personal retreat, allowing for free time or self-care activities (e.g., walking in the park, practicing yoga, or getting a massage) to support reflection and integration.
-
I truly wish I could guarantee a specific outcome—but no ethical therapist can (and I wouldn’t trust someone who claims otherwise). Healing is complex, deeply personal, and unfolds at its own pace.
What I can guarantee is that I will meet you where you are. Together, we’ll focus on the piece of the metaphorical puzzle that feels most pressing for you. Our time will be spent attending to what needs attention, creating safety for insight to emerge, and using that insight to develop intuitive next steps or meaningful relief.
While therapy is always a process, the intensive format allows us to significantly accelerate that process, giving you the space and focus needed to move forward with greater clarity.
The goal is -deep engagement, insight, and an accelerated path forward-
-
The short answer—probably not. Most insurance companies base their reimbursement on the standard weekly therapy model, where treatment is tied to a diagnosed mental health condition. Because therapy intensives take place in a different format and are designed for deep exploration rather than ongoing diagnosis-based treatment, they are generally not covered.
That said, I’m happy to provide additional information if you’d like to explore your options. Some clients choose to use HSA/FSA funds or check with their insurance provider about possible out-of-network reimbursement.
